Bluetooth Technology described
The art of connecting things is becoming more and more complex every day and this has given rise to Bluetooth. Growing technological advancements have always helped in simplifying such complex issues. They also help in satisfying man’s thirst for a fast-paced and comfortable life. One such invention is the Bluetooth technology. It is a short range technology and is aimed at replacing the cables connecting the portable and/or fixed devices.
A Bluetooth connection is wireless and automatic. It has a number of interesting features that can simplify our daily lives. It maintains a high level of security. It has got global acceptance because any Bluetooth enabled device can connect to any other Bluetooth enabled devices in proximity. The network used for connecting Bluetooth enabled devices are called as piconets. Till now, two core specifications for this technology have been developed. They are Version 3.0+ for high speed and Version 2.1+ for Enhanced Data Rate.
Some of the widely accepted applications of this technology are hands-free headset for voice calls, printing and fax capabilities, and synchronizing PDA, laptop, and mobile phone applications to name a few. It allows sharing of text files, pictures, audio and videos between two mobile phones that support Bluetooth technology. A Bluetooth enabled mobile phone is of great demand in the market because of its simplified usage. It is does not require any skillful technical knowledge for the person who operates it. The other advantages of Bluetooth are robustness, low power, and low cost. Bluetooth technology can handle both voice and data transmissions simultaneously.
